Vertical stand

Vertical stand

2002-03-06 by just john

I've found that my most comfortable way to use a controller with the XL-7
is to stand the XL-7 on its front edge on the counter to my right, and to
have the controller (small keyboard or handsonics) in my lap.

The XL-7 has never fallen over, but I'd feel even more comfortable with a
brace or holder of some sort. For another device, I use a cookbook holder,
but this is heavier. Anybody have a suggestion?

What about one of those stands for things like Alesis ADAT BRC controllers
(probably pretty cheap right now)? I think Mackie makes a rolling stand
for their smaller mixers too, that might work.

That renders using the unit in my OTHER favored mode -- in my lap when I'm
not using a controller -- undoable without a lot of reconfiguring.

No-one said you had to bolt it in, it would hold it fairly well just for tapping
pads, pushing buttons etc.

My Mackie mixer was what I was using the cookbook stand for, before I got a
rack for it. (And I keep forgetting to bug Mackie with my notion for
asymmetrical rack ears for their narrower mixers. Then one side would have
more room for Post-it notes.)
