Arps are stored on the sound ROM, so they'll transfer over just by adding the ROM (IIRC, but maybe there's some memory issue? it's been a long time).
And nope, the XL-7 is a pure superset of all the modules.

Nice!!!! That's what I was hoping.
I was glad to see the large encoder and the pots were the same in case I need parts for my XL-7. Also, if I run into issues and need the extra poly or outs the module can be put into action.
Is there anything special the Orbit3 module can do, sequencer or arp-wise the the XL-7 can not? Is it possible to import patterns from the Orbit3 into the XL-7?
I know some of this probably can be solved through manual diving. Sorry.
