Midi Configuration help, please !

Midi Configuration help, please !

2009-09-07 by rubbyrod92

Hi all,

I just bought an Mp-7 from Ebay the last week and it works fine (I like the sound and features are really easy), but I've a problem with my midi configuration, so I need some help.
I use the mp-7 with an Mpc2kxl and a midi keyboard, but I don't know how to use the both in a same time: The MPC2kxl is the master sequencer, so I plug the Mpc midi out port in the "in" port of the Mp7, but I would to plug my keyboard on the Mp7 to play with in the same time, and here I can only switch between cables cause I did'nt find another solution.
I think to buy a midi interface, but I don't know if it's the good answer. I don't use computer (only for e-loader/prodatum backup), so please give me a solution without it.
Someone can help me please.

Regards.

Plug your keyboard into the midi in on the MPC 2000 XL and it will play through to the MP-7 if you are on the correct midi channel out when recording (say 1A or 1B up to 16A or 16B). Mine works like that, although if you want to play your keyboards sounds too, then that is something else. I just use midi to make the MP-7 or whatever other module play the sounds. Everything is recorded in the MPC. The MPC is the midi interface it has 2 midi ins and 2 midi outs. Hope that helps. Good luck from TOMTEL in the ATL
