debitgel, a new track

http://www.last.fm/music/just+john/_/debitgel The first thing I ever did with a synth was in 1973 or so. That was a homebuilt thing (of somebody else's) with a keyboard swiped from a chord organ and featuring contacts of bent paper clips. When you hit more than one note, the synth would play a note that was the sum of the frequencies of the keys you hit. Or at least usually. So it had sort of a bagpipe-y feel to it. Anyway, this new track hearkens back to that whole experience, but now with a modern synth and -intentional- special effects. Also, it uses a concept I've been messing with: Routing multiple loops of note information into a monophonic voice. This track uses 7 sequences into 2 voices. I sat there as the loop played on the XL-7, playing with the muting. And then I fed that into Live Lite and tweaked it mercilessly. (Uploaded to last.fm 'cuz SoundClick's new upload system seems to be having problems.)
