the worst-designed part of this whole thing ...

the worst-designed part of this whole thing ...

2009-05-21 by just john

Tomorrow the landlady has the carpet cleaners in, so I'm doing my annual packing up of my rig to accommodate her.

And as I put away my XL-7 for a brief stint in the closet, I'm reminded of the stupidest design bit in the whole accessory line: The carrying bag.

For those of you who haven't seen it, it's your basic soft pocketbook style thing with a large flap that covers the compartment and front of it. BUT! There's a handle loop that goes through a slot in that flap. So the protective purpose of the flap is trumped by this slot that would route any rain (for instance) RIGHT ONTO THE XL-7!

Now, since I don't carry the XL-7 around, this really isn't a problem for me, but it's such a STUPID design that I think E-mu and whoever they contracted for this bag should be yelled at at least once a year.

(If I did carry it around, I'd get a better bag or use one of my suitcases.)

I agree with you on that,I use a road ready case.I recommend you do this if you plan to carry your unit around.

I took one look at a photo of it and decided I needed a different solution. ;)
