Assuming you are loading them in as patterns, go into pattern edit mode and find the CHANNEL ASSIGN menu. T01 in the upper left refers to Track 1. The second line is your destination. You can choose MultiA, MultiB, C01A --> C16A, and C01B --> C16B. With MultiA and MultiB, each track can have data routed to more than one channel.
If you use the event viewer, you can see what channel the original data is on.
Sorry if this is a bare bones explanation, but I hope it is enough to point you in the right direction with your first question.
The Command Station has built-in editing capabilities. Some people seem to like it; others seem to prefer editing on a sequencer. Most of what I used to do when I was creating patterns on my P2500 was recording, overdubbing, and tweaking in the box itself. I have some old tunes created in Cakewalk Software that one of these days I might retool in Sonar and export to the P2500.
BTW, in case its not obvious, each track can have data on upto 16 channels. That's where MultiA and MultiB come in handy.
I know a while back Aaron said something about the Command Stations handling of MIDI ports exported from software and loaded into the E-mu sequencer via e-loader. Don't quote me, but I think it was that since Cakewalk was the only software sequencer that used MIDI ports, it is not implemented in the Command Station. (This is from memory, so I may not have it right.)
Hope this helps.
