Performing with the XX-7

Performing with the XX-7

2009-05-06 by joeyjoejoemagee

Just wondering if anyone still uses a XX-7 for live performance anymore. If so, what is the preferred method of implementation? Song Mode? Pattern Mode with Xmix?

What should would one need to beware of before attempting such a feat? I've had problem accidentally hitting other buttons while practicing, but are there any issues with the unit itself (timing, data loss, general sketchyness) that I need to know about before taking this thing on a stage?

From my experience so far (about 6 months), the mp-7 seems pretty reliable, what have others experienced though?

Last time i used it live, it was in song mode.. basically it was just
being used to play 'backing' tracks and as a sound module for what i
was playing live..

things to be aware of are getting your instrument/track volumes at the
right level (compared to each other)

and if you're going to be using it as a sound module as well as
playing a sequence, that whatever channel you're using to play live
with doesn't also have sequence data in it, or the sequence stuff is
muted... :)
