Keep getting not installed error on XL7

I have an XL7 with it's original rom and it claims it is not installed, although it is. I have tried 
loading it in every slot and I still get "not installed" when trying to get at my sounds. All my 
present and custom pattern info is still there, midi works fine, just no sound. I had removed 
it and reinstalled it when I was having startup issues and now it loads fine minus the sounds. 
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

does it say no sound rom found when you go to select a sound? That happened to my mp7 and i was never able to fix it. I checked everything man. sorry to hear that.

The OS loads but when I try to access the XL7 rom it says "not installed'. Then if I move the jog wheel the user presets show up but they have no sound rom to go off of, and no sound comes out. I think it is a software problem. Thanks for your advice, I hope I can still fix it.

if you fix it let me know mine does the sma ething and i have been using it as a midi controller only.

Are you powering a midi device into the unit while it loads?
You may be sending a signal that the unit does not understand.
