Welcome new members

Welcome new members

Just a quick welcome to some new members that have joined in the last
week or two (and earlier,if no one officially or unoffcially welcomed
you). Make yourself at home--browse the message archives, check out
the resouces in the files section including a couple of
FAQs/Tip/Tricks, ask questions--esp for things not covered (or not
complete) in the manuals, etc. There is a wealth of info here (message
arcxhives and files) and E-Mu users with experience to share.

A couple of new users mentioned the P2500--at least one person
thinking about getting one and one person that just got one. (I have
what I call an XL-2500--a P2500 with an XLEAD ROM). The P2K-based
synth engine and the E-Mu sequencer is indeed the same as the Command
Stations. You do not, however, get the touch pads, the touch strip, a
place to plug in a lamp, or snazzy colors. There may be a few other
differences which I hope other can chime in on.

If yours doesn't have OS2.0 and you do anything that involves midi
clock, XMIX, and a whole bunch of other things, I think everyone here
will recommend OS2.0. Come to think of it, I don't know if anyone
recommends an earlier OS.

Anyhow; welcome.
