I really really really hate McJobbers, but their new commercial features a bunch of "young hip hoppers" or whatever old corporate type people call us these days. Around 10-15 seconds into the commercial there is a girl w/ headphones on or something working at a desk or listening to music and in the background on a table there is an xl-7! I almost pooped my pants. Then i got angry because the dickheads at McJobbers don't deserve pimp gear.

Really?!? Too weird! If someone happens to catch it with a DVR or something, I'd love a copy. Or maybe someone can find it online? Good find! -Aaron ----- Original Message ---- From: dwn4tupac <dwn4tupac@...> To: xl7@yahoogroups.com Sent: Thursday, July 17, 2008 5:57:15 PM Subject: [xl7] AWESOME! I'll take whatever slack I can get, Bob randomly disperses it, and I havent had my share lately...of course, I'm in the middle age of 'hip-hoppers' and 'suits'...oh well...I think their are kids, and adults, and everything else is pretty grey. The XL7 isn't really pimpin in gear lingo imo, anything with a price tag under 1000$ I'd shove into the ;competitively priced' category...the CS's require skill to fully potentialize, and pimps don't want skill driven gear, they buy high priced gear because it sounds great no matter what! i've been vegan for ~10 years (veg since '91) so you can all guess my
opinion of anything McDeath does to push its poison.
was there an MPC prominently featured in the ad? if not, i can only hope
that anyone in their target audience is laughing at them.

I saw the commercial, but God, If I had a COMMENT for every piece that came on tv that I have in my studio, I would be up all night sending emails, so what the real question is "do they use it"? "NO" and just like every other piece of gear that I have seen, it just sits there. Yeah, it is cool to see it on tv, but I see it everyday in my studio. I have all of these EMU pieces and everything else too, I have been reading all the groups emails and I love to hear all the problems, and solving of problems and I think this is a great thing... Recently gave up being vegan after 13+ years(the selection on the east coast sucks in comparison to florida). they switched to veg-oil because people where concerned about cholesterol,
and used "natural flavor"... natural *beef* flavor. then they got sued.
the fries are not fit for veg*ns.

i've done vegan in dayton & cleveland ohio, among other places. almost
anyplace in the states you can find an asian grocery store, and most
larger cities (and plenty of small cities) have veg*n restaurants.

I am sorry about that, and no, I am not giving you the middle finger, I just thought it was going too far about the fries, and vegetarian diets, this was supposed to be about the XL-7 behind the DJ, then it just took a weird spin off about the fries. Oh well, it was cool to see the XL-7 on tv, I always have the tv on in the studio and sometimes people call me "TOM TEL-A-VISION", because of that. I am really sorry about how that sounded. What kind of self respecting vegan eats fast food?????!?!?! Most of my vegan friends are vegan on principal, that is they don't believe in a. killing animals or b. filling their bodies w/ crap. I support both points. That being said, why would anyone attempting to minimize either a or b, support a company that does nothing but support massive slaughter houses and fill their customers w/ crap? Sure it was shitty of McJobbers to lie to customers about their fries not containing beef. Isn't it just as bad for the people going there just for the "vegetable" fries to lie to themselves about what the company they are giving their money to does with the other 98% of the menu? --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, tom johnson <doggtel@...> wrote: > > I am sorry about that, and no, I am not giving you the middle finger, I just thought it was going too far about the fries, and vegetarian diets, this was supposed to be about the XL-7 behind the DJ, then it just took a weird spin off about the fries. > Oh well, it was cool to see the XL-7 on tv, I always have the tv on in the studio and sometimes people call me "TOM TEL-A-VISION", because of that. > I am really sorry about how that sounded. > Have a great day everyone. > TOMTEL > > --- On Wed, 7/23/08, malik <malik_martin@...> wrote: > > From: malik <malik_martin@...> > Subject: [OT] Re: [xl7] Re: AWESOME! Hey thanks for apologizing, I guess i could've had thicker skin, I'm still working on it i guess. I'll keep my fingers where they belong next time. I wouldn't mind running the funimation channel(does it really exist?) on my television in the studio(but the studio has turned into the electronics workbench lately anyway). Have a good one Malik --- In xl7@...m, tom johnson <doggtel@...> wrote: > > I am sorry about that, and no, I am not giving you the middle finger, I just thought it was going too far about the fries, and vegetarian diets, this was supposed to be about the XL-7 behind the DJ, then it just took a weird spin off about the fries. I did it for my health and wasn't thinking of things ona broader scale. I mean, i wasn't going to preach about the obvious(McDonalds killing the world with junk-food culture) and i loved the fries and though, hey, they're only potatoes. I did go a time without trying to kill bugs and all that kinda stuff but when you think about it, stuff is dieing all over right at this moment, whatchyagonnado...... P.S. Me becoming a vegetarian got my brother to become one, and he looks at me as a savage :P
