XL7 sending double note-on on external tracks?

XL7 sending double note-on on external tracks?

2008-04-28 by soundcrafter

Hello everyone! I'm back with a question for the group...

I recently got my studio set back up in my new place. I was using
Midi-ox to verify my midi patchbay settings and I noticed something
unusual... If I have a track on the XL7 set to EXT, and I play from
the pads, I get duplicate note messages. THere will be 2 identical
note on messages with sequential timestamps, followed by 2 note off
messages, like this:

00D8FA51 1 -- 99 3E 34 10 D 4 Note On
00D8FA52 1 -- 99 3E 34 10 D 4 Note On
00D8FB08 1 -- 89 3E 40 10 D 4 Note Off
00D8FB09 1 -- 89 3E 40 10 D 4 Note Off

If the track is set to anything other than EXT, or if I play from an
external source, I don't get the duplicates.

Is this expected behavior? I've been driving myself nuts trying to
track down a setting I missed, or a MIDI loop in my rig and I just
can't find anything wrong! I never noticed this before, but it may
be exactly that - it's been doing in all along and I never noticed it.

Any insight you can provide would be much appreciated!

Thanks

DTK
