Why is it thet when using preset under mode/view while playing a pattern does the effects of that selected preset affect/color the entire playing pattern ?

You're in preset FX mode. That means that when you change the "active" preset, you're getting that preset's FX for the whole box. That's just the way E-mu gear works. If you want one set of effects per song/pattern, choose master FX mode. It's in the "FX MULTIMODE CONTROL" page in the GLOBAL menu. -Aaron
