EMU, will you confirm again the release of the P2500 Sound ROM?

EMU, will you confirm again the release of the P2500 Sound ROM?

2002-02-18 by heinrich22001

I phoned a german EMU salesperson this morninng about the main screen
of my mp-7 which is not backlit.
Then I asked when the new 2500 ROM boards will be available in
Germany (a release of this board was confirmed in this group by an
EMU member).
Strange: This guy did not know anything about it. He said the P2500
board was exactly the same as the P2000 sound ROM - except: some
presets programmed differently. Is that true?
Then again he said, the release of the composer board is something
thought about by EMU but if this will be done or not - no decision
yet. And no idea about the release date, if so.

Now, whats the deal?

Could you please give me a clear answer? And maybe tell your sales
staff about it?

We are not releasing the composer ROM. We are releasing the P2500 ROM
for XL and MP-7 users. They are different. Yes the samples are the same,
but the presets and ROM ID are different. The ROM will be out in a
couple of months. We have not send out any official information to our
dealers yet in regards to this release, so I can see why your dealer was
not aware of its pending release. Pretty much, you guys are in the loop
more than anybody since we communicate on a daily basis.
