Just thought you'd be interested to know, XX-7s with 4 roms have been going on e-bay for approx $650 +/- $25. BTW, congrats, mibrilane. --Steve --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, jibarosoul@... wrote:

Sure but are any of those roms a protean drums rom? Plus I know the color and updated graphics on the PX-7 is disirable. I have seen just the rom for $300. Anyway its $500obo so if interested make a reasonable offer. Thanks [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Yeah - I had a max bid on that of $875 and I was sure I was going to lose it. Fortunately I just picked up another XL for $405 so it wasn't a "must win", so I figured I'd do a "what the heck" bid just to see, especially since it was an XL with my "optimal" ROM combination: Beat Garden, TSCY, and Vintage Collection. I figured $400 for the XL and $475 for three ROMs (including a Vintage Collection ROM) would be a pretty good deal. I won it for $660. I'm still in shock. What luck! Vintage Collection is great and uber-rare, so it's a bit mystifying how it went so low. But - I'm not complaining! Of course, now I'll have to sell one of the XLs - but it's looking like I just picked up 3 extra ROMs for around $250! :D --- Mibrilane [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Hi. (1) The one that went for $635 did indeed have the Protean Drums ROM. It was an MP-7 with Mo' Phatt, X Lead V2, Beat Garden, and Protean Drums sound roms. (See description below.) (2) Based on what I had seen on e-bay, when a member here asked about bidding on that unit vs. purchasing another unit, I predicted it would go for between $500 and $650. (See http://groups.yahoo.com/group/xl7/message/17678.) (3) Most ROMS have been getting higher prices than they did a couple of months ago. So, I'd say that mibrilane's purchase price is a good one. (mibrilane, considering the base price for the prior purchase, $250 more for those 3 extra ROM is a great buy.) If the purchase price of ROMS keeps going up like they have in the past few months, I would not be surprised to see an XX-7 box with 4 ROMS going for between $650 and $800. If you can get some desirable ROMS for $85 - $125, put them in the PX-7 and the purchase price range for a fully loaded XX-7 goes up, you might come out ahead of $500 for the PX-7 with the one ROM. Or, if you picked up an XL ROM at a good price, sold the PX as an XL for $325 - $365 and sold the Protean Drums ROM for $200 - $300, you might come out ahead of just selling the PX. I am not setting these prices; I am just reading the ebay market and calling it as I see it. --Steve Here's the description of one that went for $635 (notice that the group got an honorable mention): This auction is for a used E-MU MP7 128 voice synthesizer, fully expanded with the Mo' Phatt, X Lead V2, Beat Garden, and Protean Drums sound roms, and updated to the latest OS version 2.0. It is in excellent condition, and has been kept in a smoke free home studio. Also included are the original instruction manual (paperback), support CD's (which include E-Loader software for saving and downloading songs and patterns, pdf manuals, preset patterns, and OS), a 12V gooseneck lamp, and power cord. This unit still has the original plastic covering on the LED screen, and original box. The only modification is a ground wire attached from the unit to the SPDIF output to prevent audio dropouts when using digital outputs. This is a well known issue discussed in the XL- 7/MP-7 users group @ yahoo.com, and the modification was taken from the discussions there. I really hate to sell this unit as it is my last hardware synth, but I am a converted Reason user now and need the money and extra space in my studio. Below is more info on this unit: --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, jibarosoul@... wrote: > > Sure but are any of those roms a protean drums rom? The $400 (actually $405) base price is actually what I paid including shipping for the "just the XL-7" auction. ROMs seem to fluctuate between cheap and expensive - the XL ROM and the Protozoa seem to be the cheapest, and on the other end the Protean Drums and the World Expedition ROMs seem to be the most expensive. Vintage Collection is up toward the high end as well - one could easily pay $250 for just that ROM alone. That I was able to get the ROMs of an Orbit 3 along with it is just icing on the cake. Like I said, I'm still in shock over it. It's always nice to save a few hundred dollars on an amazing deal on eBay. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, yee howdy! (On an aside - I was also in the market for a Virus C, which have been going for $800 to $850, when I saw in the concluded auctions that someone had nabbed one on a Buy It Now for something like $535. Lucky bastard!) --- Mibrilane [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

In an odd twist of fate, it turns out that the first XL-7 I bought is a dud - some of the buttons aren't working. Curiouser and curiouser... --- Mibrilane

Is the Orbit 3 rom is exact same as the XL-7 rom techno?

This is interesting.........I'm seriously considering selling my PX-7. Its in great
condition, and I have the Proteus Drums, Pure Phatt, and Beat Garden ROMs.....how much do you think this setup would go for?

The going price on ebay of XX-7 units with 4 ROMs has been discussed here over the past few months. I found the posts by searching the arhives for "steve ebay." For a 3-ROM unit I'd knock off $75-$150 from my previous predictions. Sometimes people sell P2K based shells (no ROMS) on e-bay. If you pick up one of those for a good price, put the Pure Phatt and Beat Garden roms in there and package the PX-7 with the Proteun Drums together with it, you might get even more. (Just some thoughts.) --Steve
