I've got a song that I want to end, for example, on Bar 113 beat 4 click 96. Is there a way to insert a stop, and if so how? Also, If I can insert the stop how do I move it around or delete it. Now, I don't mean inserting a step to stop the song. I need to fine tune it alittle. Thanks, Brandon.

Hi to All... I have a little question... Is there any way to automate, sequence effects parameters on XX?... for example i want to sequence the time fo delays or feedback for flangers, cause it gives many new possibilites in sounds, Anyone knows how to do that trick? With preset level patchcords you can control the >amount< that each send (1->4) goes to FXA and FXB. However, there are not patchcords destinations for either these or for layer level patchcords for th FX parameters. You can create pre-FX effects using the synth engine and you can control these using patch cords, but these take more time to program. I don't have my E-Mu sysex manual with me, but I do believe there are sysex parameters for the FX processor controls. If so, you could develop the sysex controls externally on a computer, embed them in a midi sequence, and use e-loader to put the seqeunce into your E-mu. The E-Mu itself does not have a built-in sysex editor. This method would give you control, but it wouldn't be "automation" in the sense that you could have an envelope or oscilator control the parameters. BUT: There is an easier solution if all you want to do is just change the parameters on the fly through a song (as opposed to envelope/oscilator-type automation. You can create !FX presets that have --none-- for the instrument on each level. (I give mine the prefix !FX, so they come first in the preset nagigator.) You can then designate a specific channel as your !FX preset channel. By changing !FX presets on that channel, you can change the FXA/FXB setting at will. I believe Aaron wrote aboy this and other have discussed it, though I am not sure what keyword to search for in the archives. !FX doesn't do it. This may or may not be what you want, and other may have some suggestions, too. I hope this helps. --Steve PS: Related posts on FXA/BXB and Pre-FX effects: http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/xl7/message/13211 http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/xl7/message/11104 --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, K4d4w3r <cadaverlucanti@y...> wrote: > > Hi to All... > > I have a little question... > Is there any way to automate, sequence effects > parameters on XX?... for example i want to sequence > the time fo delays or feedback for flangers, cause it > gives many new possibilites in sounds, Anyone knows > how to do that trick?

Thats not the question of FX levels, I know how to control them, but thaks for that Tip anyway... And it's not usefull for me the tip with SySex cause i dont use computer in any way, thats some sort of Ideology of making music for me, so thats not helpfull too((( thats a great pitty that FX parameters can't be sequenced...cause when i played with them live i had got very inspiring IDMish results...beautifull and experimental...It's a pitty that Emu had set FX as some sort of global and unflexible module, cause I think we all know how creative can be the work with FX...sorry... This was always been a problem with a lot of synths.. the FX are an intergral part of the sound (if you choose to use them of couse..)so not being able to control them via a modulation matrix as part of a preset is a shame. Same for seq not having an easy way to achive this. guess a alot of software allows this? not sure about that one. I'd still prefer to use dedicted hardware not a keyboard and mouse.. G

Hi,
Why don't you select a preset to control the fx send. It a nice way to control the amount of the 4 possible sends. Try program the FX send in a preset to 0 and let's program the K and L ( or other like O and P )controller to control the Fxa and Fxb to differents value ( for example K>Fxa1>0, K>Fxa2>10...L>Fxb4>25 ). Then you can varie the sends manually for all the routing ( via the quick edit preset knobs ) and so record these variations in the sequencer. If you need to control the sends separately create a preset without sample and program all the sends to different knobs ( logicaly it will work ). You will need to record one note in the track to recall the preset in the pattern. So record the movement in the sequencer.
In fact i've just have the idea today by reading your post ( in the first case it work in the second ... i don't know )
Hope that help.

To Gonzi...Yeas I agree that using Hardware is better))) as i sad before i dont use computer in creating my music in anyway exept for final recording))) But, I should mention that playing with some of the software i found much more flexibility in driving some mad stuff with effects... To Beafullis... Your proposition about the FX presets was already delivered by Steve, and by the way, some of such stuff was written in the manual if i recall correctly... P.S. the question is not about sends, the question about parameters... Try such stuff for IDM live... Send for example some beat channels on one of the busses...and set the send quantity to aproximatly 95-100% for the effectB and 0 for the effect A. Than Set the effect in one of such setups... Flanger - Feedback 97-100% , modulation 0... DelayFX (try different ones) - Delay very fast (5-35 ms or 1\32 and near) and feedback also to aproximatly 100% than start the sequencer with the beat playng))) You'll hear very interesting result, changing the delay or modulation rate parameters (for the flanger) will give great results( I LIKE THEM!!!) But be aware, sound are lot of louder in such setups)))) I hope You'll apreciate this Tip..Sounds are little bit of Authechre or AphexTwin like... Sorry for the double bad answer, i haven't learnt you post first. And thank you for the parameters. Aphex Twin is typicaly what i want to do ( the mix of the rythm with the effect as a speed as possible is a thing that i don't achieve correctly ).
A+
