Hi people. Just got an XL7, very neat machine. Looked through the manual but couldn't find info on how to enter an end of song mark or Stop after doing a realtime recording in song mode (recording external keyboard midi). Seems pretty clear how you enter a STOP if using step mode. So how do I stop the song track playing back beyond the, say, 40 bars of the recording ? Thanks APK

Hi - well why don't you just save your real time song when it is the way you want it press stop when it is done, then go and step record edit it and manually put in the stop where you so desire ... HOPE that helps --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "apk57" <akerby@r...> wrote:

Thanks for the suggestion. I did try that before. Going to Step mode and entering a STOP just after the final bar. It deleted the song and puts itself at bar 1 or 2. I had to Revert to Original to get my song track back. Maybe the problem there is that because it has no patterns filling the track, the STOP simply jumps to the very beginning bar. Maybe its a matter of adding patterns on another track until the end of the realtime recording, then adding a STOP, then muting that track. Not an elegant solution though. Just discovered the answer to my question. The Ln (pattern length) entry in the Step record screen. If the Realtime recorded track is 40 bars long, go into Step record, and enter 40 for the Ln entry, save it. The playback will stop at bar 41 when you play it back. Simple ... but I couldn't find it in the documentation. APK --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "apk57" <akerby@r...> wrote: > > Thanks for the suggestion. > I did try that before.
