question for the old skool loop sequencer user

question for the old skool loop sequencer user

2002-02-06 by mikexl7

I have put some thought in to this one but am wondering if any one
has a good trick.

Ok this is my situation. I am trying to add sampled lyrics to my
electro track. The words start on the up beat just befor the bar
starts. What I have done is just hit the note where I need it to be
at the end of the bar so it loops around in place. Ok I think that
is understandable.
This is and anoying problem that I think I might just have to live
with. I reolize that this would not be a problem in song mode, but
I a trying to keep all the tracks i am making flexable for live
use. Is there some way to deal with this? I dont see it but if
anyone has figured out a good way to deal with this please let me
know.

One thought i had is to wright all the loops one beat behind so i
could put the note info for the lyrics at the beging of the bar but
then going from the previous song into this one would sound wack.

I think I have found one thing that i like the computer better for
on this one :/ Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Peace

Mike

Hmmm, tough one, your method of doing it now might be the best way. What
are you using to play the loop, a sampler (which?) or a burned sound rom?

I am using my E5000, for now i have just moved the sample to the
begining of the bar in a place that it works ok. So the bass drum
hits just before the lyrics start. Not a big deal with the track
that i am working on now but i don't think there is a work around
for this one. It is very cool that the sequencer lets the sustain
pass through the end of the loop. Good feature.

Peace mike.
