problem saving channel assign params in patterm edit menu

hi 
im trying to save channel assignments in the pattern assignment menu.
ive saved the mutisetup the patter and the preset but if i turn the mp-
7 on or off the channel assigments go back to the default settings.

Meaning: before or after you change the channel assignments, but 
before your save the pattern, put some benign data on the track.  For 
example: any cc data [set volume at 127, for example].

If there is no data on the track, the save routines will reset the 
track to default settings.

I couldn't readily find the discussion, but I did find a discussion 
on "Setup for Sequencing Hell" (circa January 2005) that may be of 
interest to some.

As for retaining channel assignments, you may want to do what I did:

I have patterns that serve as templates. (One is at location 000^0 so 
its there at power up.) One pattern has my external track assignments 
and some cc/volume data on each track. I think I named it MultiA --> 
ext.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
