Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

hello
i have a mp7 and 3 roms.
one (the mp7 rom) is running one time and don't run sometimes. mp7
said: "rom not found" 
i have done the rom test in mp7 and it says rom ok.
can i make a test to know why this rom run when it want?
or can i test it with a multimeter or something??
i can't compose music whith this rom, so bad.
please help.

just a suggestion but im the last person you should be listening to. 
anyway, i would open up the mp7 pull the rom out and put it back in or 
even switch slots.

just what i would do maybe you should wait for someone who knows more.

good advice.  probably just a piece of dirt got in the way.  some people
suggest getting a clean rubber & lightly cleaning the parts where the chip
meets the motherboard, and also changing slots too.  a can of compressed air
might clean out some dirt...

unlike my E4xtultra which had a memory chip physically bend so, depending on
whether i had a/c on or not, the sampler would / would not boot.  bizarre!!

thank you for advice but i've already done different slots test, all
my roms running in every slot except mp7 rom. bug come from the rom
itself i think. but sometimes bug disapeared and rom is going on
normally. i don't understand what's matter.

make sure you are grounded (no static discharge)

grab ROM between thumb and forefinger at each Chip position, and
Gently press the chips to see if they crackle into place

it sounds like it could be heat-related oxidization of the contacts

inspct the contacts strip at the bottom of the ROM to see if all
contacts are clean, not scraped away, etc
