I have been able to do it mmanually using the normal save preset
procedures. I have also been able to rearrange banks of randomized
sounds with the PatchPro editor.

Hmmmmm. Are you moving the cursor to the second line before trying to
save?

Thanks Steve...that was the problem a related question; if I replace all
the unused user presets wtih the default preset, does it free up memory for
other usages? Ive had my xx7 for about a month now and am trying to
organize and optimize. i make and play ethnic flutes; plan on using the
xx7 for sonic background drones and simple patterns

Glad to hear it!

I doubt saving the default to all user preset slots will save E-Mu
memory. It might, however, help the human memory to keep presets
organized.
