Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Which one should I get?
 
Basically, I wanna be able to do everything I can on my PX7, plus have access
to sampling and some mastering ability.
 
What I have currently: PX7, midi'd thru my Yamaha DX keyboard, and Wave
Creator software to put on my computer.....that's it.  I use my PX7 by itself to
construct tracks.  The proteus cost is pretty attractive, but I wanna know from
some of you 'undergroung professionals' what to do.  Oh, and my computer has
more than enough memory to house either piece of software.

Does it really sound like a px-7 or xl-7 with the
proteus card

Good luck! The "X" versions feel like operating your XX 7 with mittens on.
Oh, and 8 of your fingers inside them have been chopped off.

If all you care about is the timbres though, either should do.
