Was wondering what exactly is the process once goes through to get
multisetups into a command station via the eloader? Was attempting to
try out some of the various Reason multisetups but wasn't having
success loading them in via eloader. If someone could give a precise
step by step process it would be much appreciated.

Dear ListMembers! I would swap my XL7 ROM for an MP7 ROM, if anyone has lost his/her interest in MP7 sounds, but would like to have XL7 (more techno) sounds. Note: not Mophatt ROM, but MP7 ROM, as it was mentioned a few messages ago. You can mail me directly to this address: andris@... Andrew Szonyi

I can't help you with E-loader but you can still get midiox at midiox.com it's free and you can download all that "exist" in the groovemachine : presets sequences multisetup presets mapping and tunning tables.
Hope that help.

So perhaps I should rephrase the question some, as I still don't
understand what exactly I would do with MidiOX. That is to say, how
would I dump multisetups to MidiOX, and/or upload multisetups from
MidiOX to the Command Station.

i'm in a hurry and gotta run but midi ox is like the swiss army knife of midi utilities. it can perform tons of midi operations like dumping banks via sysex and setting up a virtual patchbay..... --- In xl7@...m, "Alien" <23rdsigil@g...> wrote: > So perhaps I should rephrase the question some, as I still don't > understand what exactly I would do with MidiOX. Hello, I will try to explain you how to do it: First of all open midi ox and see if pass sysex is open ( check it in the right buttom of the window ) and configure your midi connection , after go in the menu view if you want to receive sysex or the menu action if you want to send sysex. You need having your xl7 linked with midi connection to your computer. To send sysex data from the xl7 go to the midi menu and find the screen who show send sysex data ( schrool the wheel at the left if you want to send bank per bank or multi or tunning table ). Prepare midiox to receive the manual dump ( you will have to name you folder ) and after press the home/enter button on the xl7. For a bank it takes few minutes to receive all the data but it's not an operation you do all the day so be patient. Hope that you will anderstand me poor english. Let me add one piece: Since you can only send the current multisetup (via the E-Mu's MIDI menu--SEND MIDI SYSEX DATA), to save others, you need to toggle between (1) Master/Global's RESTORE MULTISETUP menu and (2) Midi's SEND MIDI SYSEX DATA. Also, sending the sysex back to the E-Mu replaces the current multisetup. So if you like your current one, make sure to save it before restoring others. Hope this helps. --Steve --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, BEAUFILS Adrien <fatalojyxvsfacial@y...> wrote: > Hello, > > I will try to explain you how to do it: > [snip] > To send sysex data from the xl7 go to the midi menu and find the screen who show send sysex data ( schrool the wheel at the left if you want to send bank per bank or multi or tunning table ). unfortunatly i found this out the hard way, korg uses sysex for the the song changes (but regualar program changes for patterns). And the XL7 I'm pretty sure can't be programmed to send sysex on the fly... If someone knows how to do it please please email me! --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, Chaumet guillaume <guillaumechaumet@y...> wrote: > > Hi every body, > > I had a problem : My XL7 is in master midi position, and i have a korg esx1 in slave position. The E-Mu sequencer OS does not have a sysex editor. However, you can embed sysex commands in patterns. A few months ago I successfully tested placing sysex commands in a pattern to change the sound parameters of a preset on the fly. I did not test sending sysex externally, but I would encourage you to try the approach. With a software sequencer (in my case, Cakewalk), I embedded the sysex command in a test pattern, saved it as a *.mid file, and sent it to my E-Mu via e-loader. If memory serves me well, I shared the desire to embed sysex in a post, Aaron confirmed it would be possible, and I may have shared my test procedures. Hope this helps. --Steve --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "NONE" <vsr600@h...> wrote: > unfortunatly i found this out the hard way, korg uses sysex for the > the song changes (but regualar program changes for patterns). PS: Searching the archives for "embed," I found the original discussion: http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/xl7/message/16121 See also Aaron's reply. (Note that at one point in development the sequencer had been setup to record sysex.) For a description of using sysex to change the E-Mu's programmable controllers (the CC numbers, not the CC data) on the fly, see: http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/xl7/message/16542 The next step (which I hope someone will take) is to run a test sending the sysex out via midi to an external device. Hope this helps. --Steve
