Emu Tech Support? Hehehe

Emu Tech Support? Hehehe

2002-02-05 by erik_magrini@Baxter.com

I wrote an email to Emu tech suport back in December concerning the weird
sync issues I was having with my XL-7 and my Red Sound Micro sync (jumping
BPM display, occasional lock ups). I got the following reply this AM,
nearly two months later ;)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

"The only thing we can determine is that the XL does 'not like' the clock
from the Micro. It may be a spikey or glitchy signal from the Micro and
some devices like the Korg (ER-1) may be more tolerant of errors then
others."
Regards,E-MU / Ensoniq Tech Support

Now that helps a lot! I guess I didn't see the sticker on my XL-7 box
that says "Does not play well with others" :)

I have the same problem when syncing the XL-7 to a Korg Triton.
Sometimes the BPM counter will "jump". Haven't had any lock ups
though. Other equipment doesn't have any problem syncing to the
Triton so I guess it's a XL-7 problem.

Yeah, the XL-7 "doesn't like" MIDI Clock. Hehehe, they said it "doesn't
like"....

Hi to all ...

I've got synch problems when synchronizing to software sequencer (sonar) ...
i've got other machines that respond all well ! no problem of configuration
there ...
sometimes the tempo slow down ... then the mp7 lost the tempo (on the led
also) then retake the tempo ...
also when i start the sequencer there is a 'latency' ... the mp7 is at the
tempo but not placed at the right time ...

i hope future os will resolve those problems ... or i'll get mad ...

It happened to me as well, syncing the mp-7 withe cakewalk sonar
(master): the display shows completely different bpms all the time
but the timing seemed stable. I synced sonar with the korg le - no
problem at all! Doesn´t "like" midi clocks??? They must be joking!
But I won´t get mad. I simply wait for the next OS to make me a happy
mp-7 owner. If those bugs are not fixed, I´ll get rid of my box and
EMU is loosing another customer! Period.
