Arcade sounds???

2005-04-15 by David

Has anyone tried making any SID type sounds or old-school arcade
sounds? How? Can you post some samples? Thanks.

Try modulating the pitch of a square wave with an LFO. Then change the type of LFO and let the magic begin. :)

I've just uploaded a demo: http://www.taliesin.cl/audio/sfx.mp3

Short one, took me a couple of minutes. Pure arcade :)

I have a Ms. Pac Man beat I did a while back that's pretty cool. I'll
post it on my Soundclick tomorrow. Gotta go to work now!
Jose, that arcade stuff sounds tight! Which card are those sounds
taken from?

The sounds are from the XL-7, but you can easily achieve them by using any square wave (or similar) found in other roms.
