realtime volume control on channels 1B-16B ?

realtime volume control on channels 1B-16B ?

2005-01-14 by dclowerstx

When using the realtime control knobs for Volume, it only seems to
affect the first set of MIDI channels. Anybody kow if there's a way
to use the knobs to control the other 16 channels? Thanks.

-->The knobs go to the xx7's -tracks-, not to MIDI channels. What MIDI
channel that track is getting routed to is up to you. I'm fairly
certain that you would need to route that track to that MIDI channel,
and then ensure that you've got all the settings configured to output
controller data to external MIDI.

Actually, DC's right. The volume and pan knobs control *channels* not
*tracks*, and no, there's no way to get them to target the B channels.
One possible workaround would be to set up the programmable knobs to do
volume. You can target programmable knobs to go anywhere (even
sequencer tracks).

I was about to suggest the same workaround (using the programmable
knobs). The only thing I would add is a reminder that controller
knob settings are saved with multisetups. As needed you might want
to call up different knob assignments by restoring different multis.
