RE: [xl7] Re: E-Mu usb drivers & Windows XP

just a short and maybe stupid question:

was the command station turned on when you plugged in the cable?

this happened to a friend of mine as well, but he didn't have his mp-7
turned on, so of course his computer couldn't find it..
when i went to his place and plugged it in (while it was turned on),
everything worked fine right away and he somehow felt a little stupid
(at least that's what he told me ;o))

cheers

I hope you remember how you did it and can help me install the
drivers. I even tried removing and then reinstalling the usb
hardware from the configuration profile. I meticulously followed
the e-mu instructions. However, when I plugged the usb cable into
the computer [usb 2.0], there was no recogintion of the e-mu. PnP
hardware search doesn't find the e-mu, and the drivers were not
installable manually--the install hardware/use disk route produces
the message: this file contains no information about your hardware.

Suggestions?

Thanks.

Strange I just added the drviers per Emu's instructions and all went fine.
Can you manually install the driver and tell the PC to "Let me specify
the device type" etc?

I've gotten it to work with both 1.0 and 2.0 on different machines.

I will look into that. Also, are your ports 2.0? (I am wondering if
that may be the problem.) --Steve
