everybody got new roms - let's hear your tunes.

Hey,

Now that everyone has got their new roms and created new
tunes, I think it would be cool if everyone would post a link to their
new mp3 w/ a short comment on how you created it or what was
used.

On my new tune, sing along to yourself "In a Gadda Daveta",
and enjoy the emu arps jammed live w/ the vortex. Too much Art
Bell. ;)

I've enjoyed other posts in the past to peoples music, don't be
shy... let's hear all of those new emu roms.

Click "tracks".

This tech-house track is created with an E-Mu MP-7 (Mo'Phatt & X-Lead
v2 ROM). I used nothing else. Didn't use effects from the MP-7 either.

This is my first track by the way. Feedback appreciated.

Tech house track by Steven.Volckaert

like the minimal tech track

love the lead @ 2:55 - maybe you could but a variation on that theme
with a lot of bass and crazyness to make it insane, otherwise it
sounds good... and i don't usually like minimal techno

Here's the link to my briefcase:

http://f1.pg.briefcase.yahoo.com/mikedancy

It's not much, but there's two versions of an experimental song I worked on pertaining to
the drum rom. My friend wanted to see if we could simulate a live drummer. He recorded
guitar and bass into my VS-840 and I sequenced drums to the tracks. We did this back in
Feb./ March of this year. I recently tried remixing everything using Garage Band- hence
the two versions.

I've been so busy this year with traveling that I haven't been able to finish any of the stuff
I've started in the E-mu. Err, some day I guess.

Mike, great job on the drums. However you shifted the snare and hats
really sounds live to me. During the extended middle section it gets
a little repetitive. Here I would look at adding some large crash
hits to liven it up. If you vary the cymbol pattern and timing a few
different ways, it would sound even more like a live drummer.

Thanks for all the feedback!!

Mark, I know what you're saying about the "middle" part. One of these days I'm going to
add some spice and fix that part. A note about the recording. (My friend, who owns an
xl-7, cringed when I told him) I made patterns to the length of each "section" of the song.
Thanks to midi, I was able to attack each section seperately. And, the drums sounds are
tracked out. (5 tracks)

What's wrong with this, why did he cringe? That's exactly the way I'd do
it too...

Well... He thinks I should have had the drum "loops" in individial tracks across a couple of
patterns. Splitting up patterns the way I did it just made more sense to me- and a hell of
a lot easier, too. Boils down to personal preference, I guess.

That's my question. All great composers wrote in sections.
