I think all ROMs that are compatible with proteus 2000 can be used in command stations. --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "Turby Schmidt" <trabantmusic@h...> wrote: > is it possible do use a proteus module [wich ones, if the answer is yes]

So the operating system isnt stored in the rom, isnt it? As an engineer, I would not expect or design the operating system to be installed in a removable ROM. Instead, I would expect it to be on the main board, in a device that is electrically programmable like an EEPROM. But this is just speculating... Yeah, my understanding is that ROMs that are designed to work with the Proteus 2000 synth structure can also be used in the command station. This is because the command station itself is designed to Proteus 2000 synth specs. I believe even the Proteus 2500 is designed with P2000 specs, but has a faster processor. One thing to keep in mind. While speaking with this dude at Emu (I don't know his name, but he's a cool guy and knows stuff--or better asks when he does not know) he explained that some ROMs that are compatible with the command stations, but had come before (Protozoa for example) only respond to the first 3 rows of knobs on the C Stations. The last row does not control anything (although I guess you could program them or something). You should not have a problem using presets and editing to a good extent ROMs that are made to Proteus 2000 specs. So, there you are. --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "tttsystems@e..." <tttsystems@e...> wrote: > As an engineer, I would not expect or design the operating system to be > installed in a removable ROM.
