O.T. Jarrelook, UK Jean Michel Jarre Tribute Concert Reminder

O.T. Jarrelook, UK Jean Michel Jarre Tribute Concert Reminder

2004-06-22 by Robin Hosgood

hey everyone, ok so its not a Xl-7 (which i use btw, and is why i
joined this mailing list, and Jean Michel Jarre uses one too I'd
like to point out) ;-) but i'm assuming that there might be some
Jean Michel Jarre fans who roam this mailing list, so im hoping
there is a fair amount of people here who may be interested in this
also...

Who are Jarrelook? For more information, visit their website here:
http://www.jarrelook.fsnet.co.uk

I wanted to inform everyone here that there are still some tickets
left for the Jarrelook concert on Saturday July 3rd.

The concert location is the Charter Theatre, which is part of the
Guild Hall in Preston, Lancashire, UK, and is not that far away
(travelling-wise) from Manchester International Airport, and so is
easy enough to get to if you're flying-in as you will be able to get
transport to Preston easily enough from Manchester as far as im
aware.

Tickets are £15 including postage and can be purchased directly from
the Guild Hall, or from Arietta Music, and are also now accepting
PayPal payments for tickets too.

PayPal payments for tickets via Arietta Music can be purchased
directly from here:

http://www.ariettamusic.co.uk/jarrelooktickets.html

For more information on the concert itself, aswell as technical
details on the FULL SIZE, fully working POLYPHONIC 650 megawatt 8
beam Laser Harp they will be using, then visit here:

http://www.jarreuk.com/jarrelookspecial.htm

A lot of tickets have been sold now, but there are still decent
seats dotted about the theatre, so since Jarre has cancelled the
Bulgaria concert for this summer, then this would be a good
opportunity for you all to see this excellent band live.

There are some samples on the information page of their style of the
music, but these do NOT reflect the live renditions they perform,
and are only there based as examples, and I can assure you that the
live sound that they use sounds so much better than mp3 studio
examples... the visual experience will be excellent too (admittedly
not on standards with Jarre himself, but who has his concert budget
anyway?) :-D

Also, there will be a Fan Meeting in Preston during the afternoon of
the Saturday too (more information and links on the same information
page listed above).

So, I HOPE to see many of you there, maybe :)

Yeah, he used one in 2002 for some new music he worked on, and also to
add some extra elements to existing songs during his Aero concert in
2002 in Denmark... Of particular note, the little trancy synth "duh duh
duh" on Lily's Love preset he used to accompany Oxygene 8 during the
concert...

Looks like a great gig! I've always been Jarre fan (yeah, I'm
old...) I wonder if there's a tribute band in the US? Nice "toys" in
the rig. Especially the laser harp. Thanks for the post.
