ROM question

ROM question

2004-06-02 by Fab Claxton

Hello there,
I was thinking about picking up a good "bread and butter" ROM (ie:
filled with regular instruments such as pianos, guitars, organs,
acoustic drums, etc.), probably from eBay (seeing has how they're
getting hard to find in stores). What, in your opinion, is the best
ROM for realistic sounding pop instruments from the following:

1) Sounds of the ZR
2) Proteus Pop ROM
3) Protozoa

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Fab

proteus pop. don't even bother with the others - you will be disappointed. ZR
and Protean are old - ancient by music technology standards. proteus pop
sounds good and modern. for now...

:)

Inside my PX-7 I have the pop and just got the ZR. I like the pop
for the b&b sounds but the ZR has THE piano and some nice guitars.
It also is the only ROM with GM, although the sound need some
tweeking. Note: I havent found either with a good velocity switching
slap bass or a nice warm rhodes sound.

ROM question

2010-04-07 by frendn8

Does anyone know where I can get a list of ROMs with the AP-XXXXX-XX numbers and how they correlate to the sound collection/title?

I see the SIMM file in the collection, but I see a ROM on ebay with the number AP530-01 listed as an "Audity" ROM or "Xtreme" Rom.

1) Is this the ROM from the Audity 2000?
2) And if so, can I use it in my PX-7 and get full PX-7 functionality out of it?
3) Does it have 32mb of sounds?

Thanks for any info in advance.

Aloha,
-Nate

Audity 2000 rom is "NOT" compatible with PX-7 or Proteus 2000 and the like, but if someone is selling one it might be that they created it, and put it on a rom that works, and the Audity 2000 has 16mb of sounds. Don't know about the serial numbers, or Xtreme rom, my Xtreme lead says "LEAD"
Good Luck.
