i'm planning on buying the xl-7 but i'm getting a bit worried when i read this... i don't know what nrpn messages are but i expect the xl-7 to control my ea-1 with it's eyes closed, what's the problem with this nrpn thing? >>>Non-Registered-Parameter-Numbers = NRPN. Basically they are a way for for synth manufacturers to control gear with MIDI information, without conforming to the MIDI spec. There's a lot mroe to it, but it would take pages to explain, so you're better off doing a google search for some tuturials. The EA-1's knobs only transmit NPPN's not, MIDI CC's, so the XL-7 won't be able to record them, or play them back. The XL-7 only transmits CC's 0-95, and not NRPNs currently.
