The gate time of each note is adjustable so just increase the gate
time of the first note to be tied to 100%.

This can be done by using the cursor select buttons to move th
cursor to the volume area and then turning the dial till it
reads "gate" and then using the 16 knobs as appropriate.

Or you can hit the button above the knobs (the one that switches knob modes)
to toggle between velocity and gate.

Only if you're in Vegas.

Unfortunately, no. What you can do, however, is add all the note
starts you want, then go into note edit (4th to last screen in pattern
edit) and adjust the lengths. It was on the feature list for a while,
but it was assumed that grid edit would be primarily for entering drum
material, so durations wouldn't be so important.

I'll be damned! thanks.

Thanks to n6i6s6 & robotchas

that doesn't do what i'd like though..
just play the whole not not extend it to the next beat..
3 notes in a row in grid with 100%gate still sounds like 3 notes..

damn i guess i did know how to do it in a vague "oh in never thought
of doing that way"

thanks for taking the time Aaron!

Well I for one would love to see it back on the feature request
list. I like to enter bass lines as well from grid record mode, but
it's a pain to have to manually change the note lengths as you
describe below. Gate length screen is only useful for shortening
notes, and can't be used to tie notes.
