Grid recording question

Grid recording question

2004-03-31 by gutman75

Hi all!

Yesterday I started playing with grid recording - lots of fun indeed,
not least because it's possible to switch tracks on the fly and keep
adding stuff. If I want to tweak a preset or adjust the mix, I can
pop out of recording mode without stopping - great. But then, how do
I return to grid recording? It seems that I have to stop the
sequencer, which kind of ruins the continuous flow of the process :-)

retbah is correct. Press & hold play and hit rec. Also, just so you
know, you don't even have to leave record mode at all if you don't want
to. You can go in and tweek a preset (and save it!) without even
punching out. Then, just exiting the editing mode you're in will bring
you back to grid edit.

Although it should be pointed out that the Quick Edit knobs will be
controlling either Gate Time or Velocity if you stay in Grid Record mode,
just a heads up.

Yep, that's why I mentioned leaving recording mode - to tweak a
preset using the Quick Edit knobs, or to adjust the mix.

To all who replied - thanks for the tip!
cheers,
Boris.

Is it possible to use a grid with a resolution finer than 1/16?

Sure. Press the resolution button. 16ths, 32nds, 8th3, 16th3

Crap! That's a bug on my part. Those knobs should only do grid edit
things if grid edit is on the screen. My bad!
