apparently UIC radio folks don't check the outs to make sure they're broadcasting correctly - about 25 minutes of mix now straight down the crapper. sigh. i wonder what will happen when rEalm finds out. by the way the mix crapped out around 10:45 Central - its 11:10 Central now and the studio folks still don't know they're live on mics. 90% of college radio folks need slappin upside the head and these folks are no exception... -- Bruddah Max Lord of the Dance

maybe it's just studio for the internet broadcast. then again, what college radio station has a separate feed for its internet broadcast? 35 minutes of muddy mix with idiots talking over it. you'd think someone would have called them by now. -- Bruddah Max Lord of the Dance

Arrrgh...I was gonna record this. yeah it's kinda mystifying. whoever was "engineer" during this set was wholly incompetent. priority 1 in radio is make sure your signal is going out with the correct feed. as of 12:20 Central they still haven't figured it out. oh well. i listened to the whole thing with the hope that perhaps someone might realize the mics were live at some point during the set, but i guess they're mic channels aren't obvious and/or no one was looking at the board during all of this. sad, but college radio stations tend to specialize in sad. -- Bruddah Max Lord of the Dance

In Argentina are a lot of fans of DIE TOTEN HOSEN, their "lyrics" are in German and nobody understands nothing... its a strange world! seems like we never get rid of the past, what happens to the electronic music scene? RMXes of 80s songs over and over... Maybe its a general problem of the 1. world humanity, that nobody knows what to live and to create for, and the other part from the 3.world is manupulated by cultural imperialism to join the "global" shit instead of working with their roots. Its a little depressing, but i keep working on >From: Bruddah Max <bruddahmax@...> >Reply-To: xl7@yahoogroups.com >To: Emu XL-7 Yahoo Group <xl7@yahoogroups.com> >Subject: Re: [xl7] Re: the depths of stupidity... >Date: Mon, 29 Mar 2004 23:22:05 -0700 > >n6i6s6 wrote: > > > What a shame, as of 11:55pm CST it's still idiots talking about guns > > n roses. Do you really think that people talk about guns and roses at 11.55 has nothing to do with the cultural situation en general? I dont think that my response is so misplaced. >From: <bruddahmax@...> > > > > What a shame, as of 11:55pm CST it's still idiots talking about guns > > > > n roses. Haha, no engineer at all, we got there and everything was in shambles, tables weren't even hooked up, no monitors, mics were always hot, and peeps from the next studio were somehow getting sent into our studio outs. Sorry guys, really sorry. rEalm yeah it's kinda mystifying. whoever was "engineer" during this set was wholly incompetent. priority 1 in radio is make sure your signal is going out with the correct feed.
