E-mu modules

E-mu modules

2004-03-05 by Fab Claxton

Hey,
Are the ROM cards from the xx-7 line interchangeable with their sound
modules? For instance, could I purchase a Mo'Phatt sound module from
eBay, and install the Protean Drums ROM into it? I'd much rather
rather have the MP-7 with the Protean Drums ROM installed in it, but
it might be a cheaper alternative for me to go the module route.
Thanks to anyone who's able to help!
Fab

Yea you can do that the modules and command station are the same.then you can just Midi into your 505 and just use the sequencer that is built into the 505.Thats what i did at first I had the xl-1 before i bought the xl-7.and since you can use muiltple midi channels on the emu module It wont limit you on just using one sound. You just have to remember what sound you used for each track cause the module wont remember after you turn it off.

Is there also a ROM inside a Mo'Phatt module? So can you take it from
the module and put it in a XL-7? As the modules will become much more
easy to get in the (near) future.

Yes, or at least that's how other EMU P2000 compatible modules that
I'm aware of are set up.
