Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Hi

I recently purchased an XL7 and i wish to use it to program all of my 
other equipment taking advantage of the many tracks available. 

I stumbled across this user group and i hope someone can help.

I have created a multisetup for my jomox xbase09 so that i can 
controll all of the various sound parameters via the knobs on the xl7.

However i dont seem to be able to record realtime changes of the 
knobs except when using the knobs in the quick edit mode.

Do i haver to some how reprogram the quick edit knobs to record 
realtime changes that are transmitted to an external midi device? Or 
is their some thing i am forgeting to do in the multisetup fr the 
programmable knobs so i can record realtime changes into patterns.

Can anyone help i would really appreciate some advice as i have read 
the manual a few times but still dont quite understand how patch 
chords work and i am not sure if this might have some thing to do 
with it.

do you talk about the xbase knobs or the XX7 Knobs?
both should be able to be recorded into XX7, but i didnt know how xbase is 
organized, if it sends sysex o standard midi, if it sends sysex you have to 
use the xbase knobs to record realtime performance, if it sends standard 
midi you can program XX7 knobs to midi controller no 01 to 99 [i guess] i 
think to record the xx7 programmable knobs you have to be in song edit 
mode...

To record the programmable knobs into the sequencer, you have to set
their destination to "seq".  This will automatically send the knobs to
the current track's destination as well as record them into the
sequencer.  This was a new feature in 2.00 to allow you to have the
option of either having the knobs fixed or having them dynamically
follow the track around.
