No. Maybe switching the ROMs make a difference? How do the xx-7 units
determine which order the roms are listed/which one is used for
metronome sounds?

I'll try to pull the Protean ROM and see what happens...

Yeah, the metronome has always been like that, even in the XL-7 and MP-7. 
Drives me nuts, I'm always 1 quarter measure off when I record :)  Easier 
to just record your own click track each time you need one.  BTW, it's 
really not backward, just that the Emu does it differently from other 
companies.

I do think this would be a good one for a new OS update though.
