its like, right now, i have a beat going that has 2 tracks useing 
plk sounds, drums bass other sounds blahblah, but when i put the plk 
tracks on popping sounds pop up every few bars, is there a way to 
stop this? any help would be MUCH apprechiated, thanks

I'm glad someone else other than me brought this up.  I've been through HELL with pops and clicks on my EMU, which isn't to say I don't love the thing, but damn, it pops like crazy sometimes.
 
ONe thing it might be, if you're using an external clock, and long delay times, you get the jitter effect.  I don't really think too much can be done about this.  Even volume envelopes that rely on tempo, if you watch your tempo indicator it jumps around, up down, dead on, back and forth, it's constantly updating.  
 
Other things that introduce pops I've found:  Using solo mode.  Dunno why, but with sub bass it introduces a killer pop on the attacks.  Also, check sample start times, and volume envelopes.  Depending on the patch adjusting start times can cause a pop.  with the volume, just watch out for too quick of a jump either in the attack or decay.
 
I'd love to hear other remedy's, and possible problem parameters.  It sure does suck to work on a sound, and then find out that in some stage of your programming you made it start popping.  

OH yes, you said every couple bars, is it right when the loop loops back around?  That could be it, if you've got notes that are longer than your loop the sudden drop could be popping.  could also be doubling up on attacks if a previous note didn't receive its' note-off message.  

hope some of that can help, and you're not alone, I still struggle with this from time to time.

There has beeen a thread about this before. Particularly with some 
of the p. drum presets. It was determined that this is usually 
resultant of a particular filter and its settings. Ibe lieve it is 
called megasweep or something along that line. I have had popping 
before with non-p.drum presets. The most recent, last fall, I was 
using that filter on I know for shure. Oddly enough I was able to 
correct it by a severe reduction of tracks in the key areas. This of 
course altered the nature of my track, but oh well. Now we have 
learned that this can usually be overcome by adjusting the filter 
settings or just using a different filter all together. The thread 
on it was only a month or two ago; I think it was called px-7 
popping or something like that. Hope this helps. Maybe try muting 
different tracks to narrow down which presets it happens on then 
check the filters.
