Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Ok I am building sets of sounds in my E5000 to be sequenced by the 
XL and I have to manualy set the fx send in the event list for each 
track that I use in the E5000, super anoying.  I have asked the 
question befor but I would like to get a better understanding of why 
this is happening.  And also the controller number that I have to 
use to set this up right.  It has ben a wile since I have used the 
E5000 due to previous frustrations using external gear with the XL.

Another thing that I don't understand is why when I am using my 
controller to play the XL and the other sound moduals in my studio 
the midi chanel that is selected in the controller still plays the 
midi channel that is is set to as well as the channel that the XL is 
set to.  what am i doing wrong here.  I have Rechanalize midi in 
turned to always and the Merg midi in to out ON so I can play my 
other sound sources.  Man oh man unless I am loosing my mind this 
was working for me after the new os came out and now I have done 
sompthing and it dont work.  

well some feed back on this would be great. As it stands I often get 
an idea and just cant deal with all the little nagging problems hour 
after hour in the studio and am quickly building a pile of half 
finished tracks.  My fault I know I am not blaming emu for this but 
the frustrations that are ongoing with this thing are becoming very 
tedious and are contributing to the problem.

You can set these in the MIX OUTPUT page in the Global menu.  Also, if you
don't want the XL-7 to send these at all, set each external track to "ext" in
the CHANNEL ASSIGNMENT page.  Then, if you've already saved once with it set
otherwise, go and erase cc#79 (and any other cc# & prog change you don't
want).  Then, when you resave, those initial events won't be there.

I'm trying to follow along here, but I think I'm getting a bit lost.  In the
above situation (if I understand your routing correctly), the XL-7 should be
playing its *basic channel* and your external synths should be playing the
keyboard's basic channel.  If this is not what's happening, let me know.
