hi guys,

I'm still a bit puzzled by song mode now and then.(os2.0)

I have a pattern with a few tracks in it. I basically want to make a song out of it by live muting/unmuting the tracks and also fading in/out volume of tracks and recording the lot in a song. After that I want to have a song (in which each track is still represented by one of the 16 buttons) and to which I can then make finetuning adjustments filtersweeps etc..

I just can't figure out how to do this exactly;

if I step record in song mode to repeat the pattern the mutes jump back to their original setting each 8 bars (pattern lenght), so that doesn't work.

if I make the pattern 99 in lenght it kind of works but only for those 99. the song however has to be much longer!so that's a shitty work-around that I'd also rather avoid.

And the last thing is that no note event data is recorded enless you really copy each track manually from pattern mode into song mode, but then all tracks are put under one button.

if yoy repeat programming the step you have 198...

i thing note data must be recorded in pattern mode, cc can be recorded in 
song mode

for your style of using the xx7 you should try to assign patterns to the 
trigger buttons, this way they repeat endlessly
