I have Protean Drums, X-Lead V2, Pure Phatt. One more slot. What to do? Other gear I have: Alesis QS-R with Latin Expansion Yamaha CS1x Novation KS-4 Reason 2.5 Logic Pro (when it's released) = the soft synths So any opinions on which ROM I should get to max out my px-7? I'm thinking the Beat Garden one, for all the cool percussion. But I'm just looking for opinions. I basically do stuff from all kinds of genres, so any one of the ROMs is really an option. So what's your favorite ROM, and why? -Chris

> I'm thinking the Beat Garden one, for all the cool percussion Can anyone comment on this ROM? I've got the same: 2 spots to fill. I want drums and percussion only. I have Protean and Vintage. -m@

---Too bad the World ROM has been discontinued; it has great percussion and world drums as well as stringed and wind ethnic instruments. The Vintage is very good indeed, with nice classic-rock kits and electronic sets along with analog synths and organ, mellotron etc. I just ordered the Orchestral V2 to fill my 4th slot. Hello group, I'm new over here. A 31 years old guy from Holland. Computer sequencers made me sick, so I've bought a XL-7 for hardware sequencing. Enough about me. I owned a Novation KS-5. I was very pleased about it. One day Rob "Beat Garden" Papen visited my home. He also had a quick look at the Novation. His first impression... he was very pleased about the sound, the features and the very good keyboard! Besides that I have one recommendation. If you own a (fast) computer, wait for the upcoming ReMote 49/61 Audio Xtreme! Why? I already own a Remote25 Aduio Xtreme. It's a very nice controller but the 49/61 will be even better due the bigger keyboard. Besides that the Remote25 infact is a full K-Station (after OS update) and comes with V-Station, a softsynth with the exact same capabillities as a KS synth. Because of the OS update, I guess the 49/61 will also get an update... a KS synth OS. The KS-4 is a really nice synth, my girlfriend has the K-Station, and I
use the V-Station all the time. I think the Novation VA's have a reall
smooth sound. If you can afford it though, the Virus C would whoop it's
ass, IMVHO of course :)

I love it! Sure I'd rather have a Virus C, or both for that matter :p I havn't played with it's vocoder yet, so I can't comment on that... The Virus C wasn't within budget (I found the KS-4 on clearance for $499) --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "Turby Schmidt" <trabantmusic@h...> wrote: > > > > > In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "isomakcb" <isomakcb@y...> wrote: > > > Other gear I have: > > > Novation KS-4 > > do you have a comment about the ks4, is it any good? > i was just checking novations site for the bass station rack, but it seem to

The V-Station (one instance of it) is the same as a K-Station. But you can have four instances running at once, which makes it the same as a KS-synth (KS-rack, KS-4 and KS-5). The difference is that the KS is four times a K-Station. It is 16 voices polyphonic instead of the 8 voices of a K-Station. On the other hand, a V-Station is 8 voices per instance... that makes 32 voices! --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "isomakcb" <isomakcb@y...> wrote: > Just to clarify: > > > I already own a Remote25 Aduio Xtreme. Huh? I posted a reply to this information because it's not 100% right. The message is gone (?). The KS synth is 16 voices polyfonic indeed. Besides that it's four times a K-Station: the K-Station is one part multi, a KS is four parts. A V-Station can run four instances of it self, with 8 voices per instance. So four instances are the same as one KS. Maik --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "isomakcb" <isomakcb@y...> wrote: > Just to clarify: > > > I already own a Remote25 Aduio Xtreme. I just installed my first... the proteus pop in my PX-7 last night. Really great sounds and I think it complements the drum rom well. I would highly recomend it. I would like to get an orchestra rom next anyone have a suggestion on which one? I like individual instruments over complete sections.

But it's a lot more work to crossfade using velocity :p --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "Mike-E" <d_jumpmaster@y...> wrote: > The V-Station (one instance of it) is the same as a K-Station.
