Hello,
there's a rumor about E-MU stopping producing Command stations
(MP7,PX7, XL7) and ROMs, is it true ?

No idea, you'd have to ask Emu.

Well, a few weeks ago, on E-Mu's site, there were only two command
stations (I think the XL-7 and the PX-7) Now all 3 are on the site
again (coinciding with the Pure Phatt ROM being avalable for purchase
off their site again)

I'd take this as them not taking it off the market just yet, but
that's only my opinion.

Here's the official word from E-MU....

"E-MU will continue to sell, support and service our legacy products
inclusive of Proteus Modules, Keyboards, Command Stations,. Rom
Upgrades and Sound Libraries. Some of these products are available
in limited supply through our network of dealers worldwide and will
eventually phase out."

Hmmmmmmm....better start thinking about buying one of these bad boys
while I still can.
Fab

Thanks for the post. I am now the proud owner of legacy gear less
than two years old!!!!! It now fits in with my other legacy gear--
Casio CZ, VZ, Rolands, and the Proteus 1+Orchestral/XR!!!! (not to
forget my Win98SE 233MHz Pentium).

================================================================
Legacy gear need not become obsolete.
All it takes is a little creativity to spark new life into it.
E-Mu P2K-based Legacy Gear will rise again!!!

So what they are saying is they will continue to sell, support and
service our legacy products until they are sold "phased" out.
 How reassuring...

Hi,

I recently got an XL-7 and wanted to buy an additional ROM. In europe
you must call their Dublin HQ. The rep there told me that e-mu are to
concentrate on the new emulator-X cards, in line with the parent
company, Creative.

The impression I got was that the PX-7 is a release-and-drop. There
very limited stocks of ROMs, and these are going fast. They are
heavily discounted though!

After a lot of searching I managed to get Ensoniq project, Proteus
Pop, and Vintage Collection. So, I'm a happy boy ;-)

Good luck!
