hanging notes in solo mode

hanging notes in solo mode

2004-01-25 by gutman75

Hi all,

Yesterday I was playing a solo preset (one of the mono basses in MP-
7), and as soon as I started doing trills - that is, keep one key
down and quickly press/release another, - one of the notes would
suddenly "hang" and play indefinitely (until I press Home+MIDI).

Has anybody else experienced such behaviour, and is there a remedy?

cheers,
Boris.

I've had that happen but mostly when other things are happening such as program changes, channel selection etc.

Don't suppose it could be your MTC could it? In solo mode you can jam out at 0 or 1 bpm and you won't usually notice until you release a note and then it rings forever cuz because of tempo based envelopes.

That's really my best guess, that or too much info, CC's or something.

What OS are you using? This was somewhat common prior to OS 1.32 I
believe....

I still get a stuck note every now and then, but not very often. Does
this happen all the time for you?

YES! I have experienced this while accessing the MP7 with two of my
midi-controllers. But, it doesn't happen when I use the MP7 pads or
my Roland A37 midi-controller. It has something to do with holding
one key while starting to press another.
