I tried to record midi sequences from cubase using realtime recording, but it doesnt sync i tried it with sysex delay set to 0 - it doesnt work either, does anybody know how to ....

Can´t you just do the live recording into cubase and then transfer it to your xx7 by using eloader? :p --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "midinovelarg" <trabantmusic@h...> wrote:

What exactly are you trying to record? Sysex delay only has an effect on
what the XX-7 sends, not what it receives...

Best bet then is to export the midi file from SX, and then use E-loader to
put it into your MP-7. That's far better anyway, you won't have to worry
about all of the midi notes being late due to transission when they get
into the MP-7 if you're recording in real-time. LEt me know if you don't
know how to do this.

"to work with the hardware sequencer and the pc sequencer at the same time seem to be impossible" Yes this is tricky. One should be a "master" - it´s either one or the other for me.If im writing in cubase I see my xx7 as a multi mode sound module and if writing into my xx7 - well its my xx7! Maybe its a rechannalize issue "found in the midi menu". Mine is set to *off* and always has been. I never experienced this problem. If "live" recording into the pc is ok then do that. You can export your recorded tracks to a midi file then load them into your xx7 using eloader. Then there should n´t be any problem if you wish to do any "live" recording onto an existing or empty track when not connected to a pc. There must be something specific causing this problem.... good luck :p --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "Turby Schmidt" <trabantmusic@h...> wrote: > I try to record> whatever! > I have some midi plugins, like slicy drummer,or step sequencer > meanwhile reproducing it sounds ok [if there is no midi track at the mp7 > sequencer active in the mix], to work with the hardware sequencer and the pc > sequencer at the same time seem to be impossible, > of course to work in the studio it is no problem to use just the PC > sequencer [by the way> to record into the pc works perfectly] but i try to > record the sequences to be able to play live without PC... > > > >What exactly are you trying to record? Try exporting the MIDI file as a Type 1 MIDI File too. Also, if you want
to make sure that the tracks stay the same when you put them in the XX-7
via E-Loader, put blank midi tracks in the Cubase project where
appropriate.
For instance, if you're using tracks 1, 3, 8, and 9 in Cubase, make sure
you insert blank tracks for 2, 4, 5, 6, and 7, set to the same numbered
MIDI channels. Then do the Export and all should be well.

I think you´ll need to put some kind of dummy note into the "blank" tracks. Cubase dose not export the track if theres no info in a part on that track. So write a note in the part with the velocity set to 0. The xx7 then shunts all tracks to the lowest posible but sees the cubase tracks as channels. "the problem is, that i cant change the patches in the tracks 3, 8 and 9 wich are assigned in the xx7 tracks 2,3, and 4," So in your example the cubase track 8 becomes an xx7 track 3 with its channel assigned to 8. The xx7 seems to recognise cubase tracks as channels - not tracks! v.confusing. So put those blanks in and workaround this problem. I use a preconfigured default arrangement to start any new cubase patterns/songs. :p --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, erik_magrini@B... wrote: > Try exporting the MIDI file as a Type 1 MIDI File too. You don't have to close Cubase to use E-Loader BTW, I leave them both open
all the time. Much easier/quicker to throw things into the XX-7 and see
if any changes need to be made.

Also, if you have a second (backup/legacy) computer, you can have E- Loader1.1 connected via USB (for storage of patterns, for example) on one, with a sequencer connected via midi on the other.

This is how I do it now, on only one PC. rEalm Also, if you have a second (backup/legacy) computer, you can have E- Loader1.1 connected via USB (for storage of patterns, for example) on one, with a sequencer connected via midi on the other. I seem to recall resolving this in Win98SE by doing something with multimedia device settings in control panel. I don't recall the specifics, but it boiled down to not being to use more than either one midi in device or midi out device somewhere. I could have 2 of one (not sure if it was midi in or out) but not the other (not sure if it was in or out). Just a thought.

A cheap solution is to get a midisport 2x2. Since it is utilizing a USB port. It lets multiple items run. The bigger the midisport the more devices you can have talking to software. I am getting ready to move to a 8 x 8. Things should get real interesting, real fast. I have been able to have ProTools open along side E-Loader. If I use the midi port on the Digi 002 the port is only available to one program at a time as well. --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "Turby Schmidt" <trabantmusic@h...> wrote: > > > >You don't have to close Cubase to use E-Loader BTW, I leave them both open > >all the time.
