recording from an external sequencer

recording from an external sequencer

2003-12-04 by mike p

Hey all, I was wonder if somebody could give me some help. I write my patterns in Logic Audio Platinum 5.5, and have been trying to get them into my XL-7. This it the first time I have tried this type of operation, so I think I might be overlooking some parameter setting. The XL-7 has been updated to the new operating system 2.0. I have tried to export the midi file out of Logic and load it with the e-loader, but even though the pattern is 8 tracks, the e-loader places all the information on track 1 and 9. I can open the midi file elsewhere and it is correctly laid out on the 8 tracks (1 to 8). I have even tried to play the sequence from Logic and hit record (real-time) on the XL-7, but it never takes the info in. If somebody could please let me know the easiest way to get the midi information into the XL-7 I would very much appreciate it, this is starting to drive me a little crazy. I want to start taking it with me when I DJ so I can play some original tunes, and stat going towards
 a live set.
Thank you
Mike

Try taking those tracks in your XX-7 (1&9) and then Cmobine the To the
ClipBoard. Then Explode the Clipboard and see if that does it. Otherwise,
try placing blank tracks on the channels you're not using in Logic, then
export.
