crashing when plugging in external keyboard/controller

crashing when plugging in external keyboard/controller

2003-11-17 by trusolman

the first day i got the MP-7 i started sequencing right away and
decided to plug in my Oxygen-8 controller to play chords into the
machine. it instantly froze up and i had to restart it. i assumed it
was just a problem with plugging in the controller with the machine
on so i turned it off, plugged in the Ox-8 and then turned it on.
worked fine for a while, but noticed the MIDI in light constantly
flashing on the MP-7. also after several hours of sequencing (maybe
3) it froze up on me again. when i tried to erase some notes via the
erase button on the MP-7 and the keys on the Ox-8. the erase button
would not stay lit while the pattern was playing back, so i stopped
it and that was all she wrote. frozen! anyone else have similar
problems? is this something wrong with the MP-7 or does it sound like
the Ox-8 is creating the problem. i have not really tried the MP-7 by
itself for any extended period of time.

also to E-MU reps, can you guys update the OS to allow
copying/pasting of more than one track at a time? would make things a
lot easier.

Sounds like you have a MIDI loop. If you plug both the input and
output into the Oxygen, make sure it doesn't thru the in to the out.

i'll check on the midi loop thing, but is there something i'm missing
about the "cut/copy track to clipboard" feature? i only see where you
can cut/copy one track at a time to the clipboard. i have OS 2.0.

Check out page 94 of the revision "G" manual (in our files section if you
don't have it), it explains it pretty well. It's not exactly what you're
looking for, but it would work for this too I think.
