1.17 to 1.18

1.17 to 1.18

2001-12-22 by mikexl7

Can someone tell me what is new about the 1.18 OS?
It is a big pain for me to hook the XL up to my computer and I am
wondering if there is any point for me to load it in.

I know there where some changes with the instaling process but are
there any changes in how the XL will behave after the install?

Just wondering

Mike

Mike,

This is from message 1002 on 12/12/01 that mainly said it was for
download problems. The minor bug fixes mentioned were not gone into
in any detail.

We'll try and have it up on the web today. There's a couple minor
bugfixes, but mostly it was for the download process.

The most significant issue addressed in 1.18 was that when updating from
an earlier release, 1.17 could erase some of your sequence data. It was
our intent that no data would be lost in the upgrade. That has been
fixed.

One visible bug I am aware of that was fixed between 1.17 and 1.18 is
that QuickEdit knobs could not be disabled in 1.17. That has been fixed
in 1.18.

There are a few other minor changes, but I won't be able to get an
accurate listing of those for a couple of weeks - a lot of people are
gone for the holidays.

I recommend that you upgrade to 1.18. It's better ;-)

1.17 to 1.18 has no new features but does have about 10 minor bug fixes.
You probably have not encountered them, but it is worth upgrading when
it becomes convenient for you. The biggest fix is in regards to using
Triggers and Multi setups. If you are or plan to use them, you should
upgrade to 1.18.
