Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

The midi out light is supposed to flashing all the time no matter 
what, right? I seem to remember that it did, but am not sure...

Usually just means it's sending MIDI Clock info.

Roland units also do this. They send out ID information which lets 
some sequencers and software know what MIDI devices are connected to 
your system.
