The magic word is pause. ( hit the play button again=pause )
Program-play-pause-Program-play-pause. and so on

Grid record New user . how?

2001-12-22 by brechin01356

Aha! I'm making progress. I've now joined the group and I,m
sending post....I hope. When recording in grid mode,I find
that I dont seem to have enough time to enter my selected notes
for each bar as the little red lights keep skipping on to the next bar
then I enter notes In the wrong place then I get annoyed then I switch
it off. How do I get it to stay with the first bar eg so I can
programme it before moving on to the next (if I,m doing 4 bars in a
row)

This is a solution, but it isn't a very good one. It breaks the creative flow when building a pattern (press pause, enter notes, press play, listen to result, repeat), and isn't an option at all when performing live. Anyone who's ever performed on an X0X style interface will know how much fun it is, but having the sequencer constantly pulling the pattern out from under you makes this clumsy.

The grid record mode on the XL-7 is very cool, but it needs a "manual" mode where the measure being edited will not change unless the user presses <- or -> buttons.
