Sean,
How about a conversion of some XL-7[MP-7] to XL-1[Mo'Phatt]presets?
{since I have the Pure phatt ROM installed in the XL-1}
P.S. Check your voice mail.

I have also noticed that there are no BEATs presets on the XL(MP)-7's
due to the different OS. They are all designated as Kits. How will
downloading the XL-1(Mo'Phatt)format sounds affect those presets?
I know that with my XL-1, I can do just about the same thing less the
sequencing. In SuperBEATs mode, controlling the XL-1 with my E-MU
Launchpad, I can bring in drum elements by using the keypad on the
Launchpad and also trigger arps with the trigger/transport buttons.
I know that with the XL(MP)-7's that all elements now are being
brought in with the 16 trigger buttons.
I had some time to kill on my recent business trip to Sacramento and
spent 5 hours at the local Guitar Center playing around with both of
them. Bottom line is that with what I have (E-MU Launchpad + XL-
1w/Pure Phatt ROM{also have a P2K w/Techno ROM and stbr Beat Garden
ROM by R. Papen}), I essentially have the XL(MP)-7 less sequencer.
Why can't the NEW Kits be converted to BEATs and posted for many of
the XL-1 and Mo'Phatt users that can't get either of the new Command
Stations?
Don't get me wrong, I love the new boxes and would like to get one
but with the E-MU gear that I already have, it would be redundant.
Thanks for your time.

Sorry, were only supporting Xl-1 to Xl-7 for now. Xl-7 does have some
extra features that Xl-1 will not be able to understand.

They will play as kits.

That is true, but remember your SuperBeat is playing back one preset,
thus the MIDI data was recorded under those constraints. Xl-7 sequences
are designed for Multiple channels.

Hours of re-work. SuperBeats are a single preset with 4 layers. Layout
example: L1 kit, L2 percussion, L3 bass, L4 lead. This layers are spread
across a keyboard in their own key ranges, i.e., c2-B2, C3-B3, etc. The
Beat Sequences were created and limited with those key ranges in mind.
Patterns from Xl-7 are 16 tracks, each with its own preset (4 layers)
and not limited to any set key range.
Even with re-work the end result would most likely not match.
